ZIRCONIRISTHME •
ZIRCONIRISTHME = ZIRCONIUM + ONIRISME + ISTHME
• The last Zirconiristhme, is a performance of Melodie Duchesne.
We are in the dark and filtered lights in the dark blue and purple. A girl is crouching, almost dormant, if one be wooden platform around materials workshops, industrial scrap, aluminum sheets, white cloths, pots, bowls. The performer begins to move in the darkness her body is visible through the white ribbon that wrapped around and creates a phosphorescent effect, she moves by dragging this white ribbon and dragging along with some tape surrounding objects that produce sounds of various kinds, the his movements bring to mind tribal atmospheres. It looks like an awakening, his, hypnotizes the audience approaches the objects and it entices potential, it does a consultation with sticks and pots, as you play drums or drums, walking on the objects producing a metallic noise, sometimes destroying them. Meditative moments alternate with moments aggressive and destructive, sometimes it is silent and attentive like a wild beast in the forest that has spotted prey and calibrates the appropriate time to maul, is hectic at times, sounds, noises, voice, moaning, screaming, converge in a merger of the elements in a single stream, like the cry of life that calls for her to be living together, chaos, existence.
Voice, body and objects in a single flow, where the reference is to the genesis of the disaster, borrowing language from Japanese Butoh dance, the performance aims to bring the attention of the onlookers on the recent events in Fukushima and, more broadly, on 'alternation chaos-cosmos, homeostasis and entropy. The voice breaks from the inside of the body like a moan and then as a revelation of existence and a trip over the trauma, to the polysemy of reality that alternates construction and destruction.
